I am delighted to be Principal at Vale of York Academy and am looking forward to ensuring we provide our young people with the best possible experience during their time with us.
I am in my fourteenth year as a serving headteacher and have held senior leadership roles across schools both in London and the Yorkshire and Humber region for over twenty years. This experience has provided me with a thorough understanding of how schools bring about improvement and enhance young people’s life chances.
Over the last few years, huge improvements have been made at Vale of York Academy and the huge potential of our children and the capacity the academy now has are evident. We are blessed with a student body that is well-behaved and ready to learn and a staff committed to doing the best they can for the students. I am very keen that we do not stand still, we keep moving forward and together we continue on this rapid journey of improvement.
Our partnership with Hope Learning Trust and importantly with Manor Church of England Academy is significant. By joining our school, your child gets the best of both worlds. Vale of York is a small school with less than 150 pupils in each year, which means your child can truly be known as a unique individual by each and every one of our dedicated and committed staff. At the same time they will reap the benefits of attending a sister school to Manor – one of the most successful schools in the City of York – and from the wider support of colleagues within Hope Learning Trust.
I consider it a true privilege to lead this school and am very much looking forward to working with everyone at Vale of York Academy.
