The Vale of York Professional development programme is a series of specific after school sessions that are designed to meet the range of our staff’s different professional needs. The sessions are open to all staff; some sessions will form part of the new staff induction programme are essential for new colleagues. Attendance at a session will be recorded and certificated termly so that staff can evidence that they had chosen to seek additional advice and guidance to develop their professional practice. In turn this can be used at appraisal review points, as it demonstrates that you are prepared to take a reflective approach to developing your own pedagogical practice. The professional development programme sessions will complement the whole school CPD programme, however the smaller nature of these sessions means that content can be tailored to meet the specific needs of those present. The sessions will run on a Thursday after school. The model will normally be based upon a 30/40 minute presentation allowing for plenty of time within the hour for Q&A. If you have any questions or queries about the programme please see MH.
