VALE OF YORK ACADEMY IS PART OF

Students: REMOTE LEARNING

Continuing your education by working from home

In light of recent guidance around preventing the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), we are doing our best to support students by providing resources and subject information for those able to work remotely. These resources are grouped below by Key Stage but, should you require any additional information, please email your subject leader. Contact details for individual staff members can be found here.

Subject resources

Please use the following guidance in order to structure and support home/remote learning.

Year 10: Pupils in Year 10 must continue with home/remote learning in all subjects. Staff will post work weekly (with deadlines for completion) on a Monday and provide guidance and feedback as requested by individual pupils through Google classroom. Provision of face to face delivery is available on site to the equivalent of 3 hours per week in core subjects. Contact reception@voy.hlt.academy for more information. Non-core subjects will provide additional support to facilitate home/remote learning during the afternoon (eg. Option G – Mon, Option H – Tues).Non-exam subjects will not be setting work.

Year 9: Work will continue as before with work being set through Google Classroom. The subject teacher will seek to offer ‘additional support and guidance’ to facilitate home/remote learning.

Year 8: Provision for Year 8 pupils will continue as before with work being set through Google Classroom. Core subjects will seek to offer ‘additional support and guidance to facilitate home/remote learning. Teachers of new option subjects will also be in contact with work that will enable pupils to achieve a head start in these subjects. Work will still be available for pupils to complete in other subjects (the ones they are not continuing) but completion is optional.

Year 7: Provision for Year 7 pupils will continue as before with work being set through Google Classroom. Core subjects will seek to offer ‘additional support and guidance’ to facilitate home/remote learning. Pupils will be expected to complete work as outlined in each subject.
