Vale of York student Jazlyn Smith (pictured) has won gold at the Trampoline Championships in Hull last week. An amazing achievement for anyone, but Jazz’s win is even more impressive as it’s only a year since she dislocated her knee in training.
She was undeterred after her injury and has been training five times a week at York Artistic Sports Club since then to get back to competitive level again – and her commitment has definitely paid off. Jazlyn has now qualified for the finals in Hull later this year.
Lucy Arnold also won a silver medal at the championships after coming into the sport around two years ago. Lucy has been working extremely hard and has qualified for the Yorkshire trampolining competition this weekend.
Huge congratulations to Jazlyn and Lucy. We hope you continue to fly high!

A hard fought final last week for the U15 Bball squad which saw them squeezed out, at the final hurdle. Nip & tuck throughout against Bootham school, who won 54-42. So pleased with the lads from their performances all season long.Well done to all and Mr Halifax #diginity#battlepic.twitter.com/0gAf…
