Since leaving Canon Lee in 2013, life has been a little bit of a roller coaster. I left school and joined York College to do a VRQ level 2 in Hairdressing. I’ve got to say, all the hard work at school and college paid off and I left college with merits across the board and I soon found my place at a local hairdressers. Although I was only at the hair dressers a year, it was a year of hard work and laughs that soon came to an end when I had my son, Kayden. I always thought that the certificates that I came out of school and college holding were my greatest achievements but that soon changed when I held my son. I soon found myself married and moved away to be with my husband in the army but it didn’t last long; to say the least, the army life wasn’t for me. It wasn’t long until I moved back home after a year away and then I found the person I’m spending the rest of my life with.
Even though I’m now, 2 years later, in a wheelchair suffering paralysis of the right side of my body, I can honestly say that the certificates I came away with meant a lot, but my family is by far my greatest achievement! And even though I may never have full use of my body again, my boys continue to be the reason I smile.
