Since leaving school IN 2013 I studied 1 year of Business BTEC as I wasn’t 100% sure of what I wanted to do, I completed the year with D*D*. However, throughout my time studying business I knew that I wanted to work in health care. Therefore, I gained some work experience/volunteering which reinforced my love and desire to work in the health care sector. So, I transferred courses to study Health and Social Care BTEC extended Diploma (level 3), I completed the course and finished with D*D*D* (distinction). I then applied to various universities to study a degree in Paramedic Practice.
Although in school years I was technically a year ‘behind’ it enabled me to mature, gain my driving license which was a paramedic requirement, I gained work experience, I worked part time and saved money.
I gained a place at Teesside University, my course was a mixture of presentations, essays, OSCE’s (practical exams), exams and full time placement.
I have completed my Bachelor of Science degree and I have graduated with a First class honours in Paramedic Practice.
Since recently finishing university I have now started a job with the Yorkshire Ambulance Service, fulfilling my dream career as a fully qualified Paramedic.
I will be forever grateful for the education, encouragement and support provided by all of the staff at Canon Lee.
Thank you so much to @marcrowland73 for such an engaging and thought provoking CPD session on supporting students during lockdown and their eventual return to the classroom. Much appreciated by all colleagues @ValeYorkAcademy.
It is really good to see that some students manage to keep up with the cooking skills. Please send pictures in of your delicious food. House points will be awarded for every entry! pic.twitter.com/1pzm…
